About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Systems Engineer for their facility in Mossel Bay . This role focuses on the integration, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing systems to ensure peak operational efficiency and product quality. You will work with a dedicated team to troubleshoot system issues, implement upgrades, and develop innovative solutions for production challenges. This hybrid role offers a balance between on-site engagement with operations and the flexibility to contribute remotely on specific projects.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze manufacturing system performance and identify opportunities for improvement in throughput and reliability.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation systems, PLCs, and HMI interfaces.
- Develop and execute test plans for new systems and modifications, ensuring they meet performance specifications.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of digital manufacturing strategies and the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing systems engineering or automation.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
- Experience with SCADA systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Strong understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with excellent communication skills.
