About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Civil Engineer with a specialization in Structural Design to join their established team in Mossel Bay . This role is central to the design and integrity of a wide range of structural projects, from commercial buildings to industrial facilities and bridges. You will be responsible for ensuring that all structures meet rigorous safety, performance, and aesthetic standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to delivering innovative and reliable structural solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant projects within the Western Cape and work within a collaborative engineering environment.
- Design and analyze structural systems for various types of construction projects using engineering principles.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., SANS codes).
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct structural inspections and assessments of existing buildings and infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design intent.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design.
- Professional registration (PrEng) with ECSA is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP
2000 , ETABS , or similar. - Thorough understanding of material properties (concrete, steel, timber) and their applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
