About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Mossel Bay , contributing to the effective management and development of their oil and gas assets. This role focuses on analyzing reservoir performance, forecasting production, and developing strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. You will work closely with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to provide technical expertise and support for field development and optimization projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in reservoir simulation, and a deep understanding of reservoir engineering principles within the demanding context of the Oil & Gas industry . Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze reservoir fluid properties, rock properties, and production data to assess reservoir potential.
  • Develop and calibrate reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
  • Design and recommend optimal well locations, completion strategies, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
  • Monitor reservoir performance, identify deviations from predictions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports, economic evaluations, and presentations for management.
  • Collaborate with drilling and completions teams to ensure effective well execution aligned with reservoir objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field;
    Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in reservoir engineering , preferably in the Oil & Gas sector .
  • Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
  • Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow , and material balance calculations.
  • Experience with data analysis, uncertainty assessment, and economic modeling.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
