Civil Engineer - Transportation and Road Design

Our client is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with a focus on Transportation and Road Design to join their vibrant team in Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for the development and improvement of regional transportation networks, contributing to economic growth and accessibility. You will be involved in all phases of road design projects, from initial planning and traffic studies to detailed design and construction supervision, working within a team dedicated to creating safe and efficient transport infrastructure.

• Design and develop road alignments, cross-sections, and intersection layouts for new roads and upgrades.
• Conduct traffic analysis and capacity studies to inform road design decisions and traffic management plans.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documentation for road projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and provincial road design standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as structural and geotechnical engineers, on integrated projects.
• Perform geometric design checks and quality assurance on design deliverables.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and road design.
• Proficiency in road design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Bentley MX.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and South African road design standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage project tasks efficiently.
