Senior Reservoir Engineer - Oil & Gas Exploration

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their exploration and production team, contributing to their operations in the vicinity of Mossel Bay. This role is central to optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and maximizing asset value through expert reservoir characterization, performance analysis, and development planning. You will apply advanced simulation techniques and economic analysis to guide exploration strategies and production optimization efforts.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in reservoir engineering, eager to tackle complex geological challenges and drive significant value in South Africa's offshore and onshore exploration ventures.

• Conduct detailed reservoir characterization studies using geological and geophysical data, well logs, and core analyses.
• Develop and utilize sophisticated reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Optimize well placement, completion strategies, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques to maximize hydrocarbon production.
• Perform economic evaluations of exploration prospects and development projects, providing clear recommendations to management.
• Monitor reservoir performance, analyze production data, and update models accordingly.
• Collaborate closely with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to ensure integrated asset development.

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on exploration and development projects.
• Proficiency with industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel RE, Eclipse, CMG).
• Expertise in reservoir modeling, data analysis, uncertainty assessment, and production forecasting.
• Experience with unconventional reservoirs and/or offshore operations is highly valued.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
