Process Engineer - Petrochemical

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Process Engineer specializing in petrochemical operations to join their facility in Mossel Bay . This role is instrumental in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting chemical processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality. You will work on process improvements, scale-up activities, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within the Western Cape's industrial sector, contributing to the development and safe operation of critical petrochemical facilities.

• Design and develop new process flows and equipment specifications for petrochemical plants.
• Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
• Conduct process simulations using software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to enhance process reliability and safety.
• Ensure processes comply with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, P&IDs, and operational manuals.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the petrochemical or chemical industry.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and process design tools .
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and process safety management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
