Our client is seeking a specialized Energy Storage Solutions Engineer to lead the design, integration, and deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Based in Mossel Bay , you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that enhance grid stability, support renewable energy integration, and provide critical power backup. This role requires a blend of electrical engineering expertise, project management acumen, and a forward-thinking approach to energy technology.
You will collaborate with project developers, equipment suppliers, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion, contributing significantly to the region's energy transition efforts.
- Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems, including battery selection, power conversion systems, and control strategies.
- Perform system-level analysis, including sizing, performance modeling, and grid interconnection studies.
- Develop technical specifications and procurement documents for BESS components and services.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of energy storage projects.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operational energy storage systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on power systems or energy storage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of energy storage systems or power electronics.
- Proficiency in battery technologies (e.g., Lithium-ion), inverters, and energy management systems.
- Experience with power system modeling and simulation tools.
- Strong project management and communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders in Mossel Bay .
