Our client requires a skilled and analytical Structural Engineer to contribute to significant construction projects in the Mossel Bay area. This hybrid position requires the ability to conduct on-site inspections and analysis, as well as perform detailed design work and calculations remotely. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of buildings and infrastructure, collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail in structural design and analysis.
- Design, analyze, and oversee the implementation of structural components for various construction projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for structural systems.
- Conduct site investigations and assessments to evaluate existing structures and ground conditions.
- Collaborate with architects and other consultants to ensure integrated and functional designs.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Review shop drawings and provide technical support to construction teams during the erection phase.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
- Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng) with ECSA or equivalent.
- Significant experience in structural design and analysis for building and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
2000, Etabs, Revit Structure) and CAD tools. - Ability to conduct site visits and work effectively within a hybrid model.
