Senior Reservoir Engineer

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Reservoir Engineer to play a critical role in evaluating and developing hydrocarbon reserves near Mossel Bay . This position involves applying advanced reservoir engineering principles to analyze reservoir performance, forecast production, and optimize recovery strategies. You will work closely with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to maximize asset value and ensure efficient resource extraction.

• Conduct detailed reservoir characterization and performance analysis using geological and engineering data.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate recovery options.
• Prepare production forecasts, economic evaluations, and reserve estimates in accordance with industry standards.
• Recommend and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques where applicable.
• Collaborate with drilling and production teams to optimize well placement, completion strategies, and production operations.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to the knowledge base of the engineering team.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong track record in complex reservoir analysis and management.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG) and decline curve analysis techniques.
• Solid understanding of geology, petrophysics, and production engineering principles.
• Experience in economic evaluation and reserve reporting (e.g., SPE PRMS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
