Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer

Our client, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, is seeking a dedicated Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to join their expanding operations in Mossel Bay, Western Cape
. This role is pivotal in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable integration of renewable energy sources into the grid, performing electrical design, conducting site assessments, and overseeing aspects of project execution. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of power electronics, grid connection standards, and renewable energy technologies.

• Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy installations (e.g., solar PV, wind farms).
• Perform electrical load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection for inverters, transformers, and switch gear.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings for electrical installations.
• Ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
• Liaise with grid operators, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee aspects of electrical installation, commissioning, and testing of renewable energy systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues related to renewable energy generation and grid integration.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical designs and project execution processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Solid understanding of solar PV system design, components, and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of grid connection requirements and standards for renewable energy.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP).
• Familiarity with power electronics, inverters, and energy storage systems.
