Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy Projects

Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Mossel Bay , focusing on exciting renewable energy projects . This role is integral to the design, development, and deployment of innovative solar and wind energy solutions. You will be involved in all phases of project life cycles, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to construction and commissioning.

This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems applied to renewable energy and the ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate with diverse project teams. • Design and engineer electrical systems for solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind power projects.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and interconnection studies.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations, including load flow, fault analysis, and grounding studies.
• Specify and select major electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, switch gear, and batteries.
• Oversee electrical aspects of project construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and project management teams to ensure project success.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy (solar or wind).
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, PVSyst, Helioscope) and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of grid interconnection standards and requirements.
• Experience with project site visits, construction oversight, and commissioning activities.
