Animation Supervisor - 3D Character Animation

Our client is seeking an exceptional Animation Supervisor to lead their 3D character animation team in Mossel Bay . This pivotal role involves guiding animators in bringing characters to life with compelling performances and high-quality motion for feature films and game development projects. You will be responsible for setting the animation style, ensuring consistency, and maintaining the artistic vision across all character animations.

• Lead and direct a team of 3D character animators , providing clear artistic direction and technical guidance.
• Establish and maintain the animation style and quality standards for all character performances.
• Review animation shots, provide constructive feedback, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
• Collaborate with directors, art directors, and other department leads to achieve the overall vision of the project.
• Develop and implement animation workflows and best practices to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot animation-related technical issues and guide the team in finding creative solutions.

• Extensive experience in 3D character animation for film or games, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional character animation skills and a keen understanding of performance, timing, and weight.
• Proficiency in Maya, 3ds Max, or similar 3D animation software.
• Deep knowledge of animation principles, anatomy, and character acting.
• Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration is a plus.
