Telecoms Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Network Administrator to join their team in Mossel Bay . This role is essential for managing and maintaining the company's critical telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient network operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of network systems, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in networking and a proactive approach to system maintenance.

This position requires on-site presence to manage the local infrastructure and provide hands-on support within the telecoms environment .

• Administer and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning for network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software components.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources.
• Respond to network-related incidents and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role in the telecoms industry .
• Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP , DNS, DHCP) and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from leading vendors.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are a plus.
