Procurement Specialist - FMCG Raw Materials

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials for their FMCG production facility located in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality ingredients and packaging materials, crucial for maintaining production schedules and product quality. This position requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of procurement best practices within the food and beverage or related FMCG sectors.

You will collaborate closely with the quality assurance and production teams to meet specific material requirements.

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and other supplies necessary for FMCG production.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable contract terms.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct market analysis to identify potential new suppliers and alternative materials.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and manage inventory levels in coordination with the planning department.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of purchasing principles and inventory management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
