Environmental Services Associate

Our client is seeking a proactive and thorough Environmental Services Associate to contribute to the cleanliness and hygiene standards at their facilities in Mossel Bay . This role is critical in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for all occupants. You will perform a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks, manage waste streams, and operate specialized equipment, working collaboratively with facility management.

The position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to upholding rigorous hygiene protocols, and the ability to adapt to different cleaning needs across various facility areas.

• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and sanitation tasks across designated areas of the facility.
• Operate, maintain, and safely store cleaning equipment, including floor machines and specialized tools.
• Manage the collection, sorting, and disposal of general waste and recycling according to established procedures.
• Ensure all cleaning solutions and chemicals are used, stored, and disposed of safely and correctly.
• Perform specialized cleaning as needed, such as deep cleaning of restrooms, kitchens, or high-traffic zones.
• Contribute to a culture of safety by adhering to all environmental health and safety policies and reporting any potential hazards.

• Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or environmental services role.
• Familiarity with various cleaning agents, sanitation best practices , and the operation of cleaning machinery.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.
