About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and analytical Production Planner to join their operations team in Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for optimizing production schedules, managing resources effectively, and ensuring timely delivery of products. You will work closely with various departments, including manufacturing, procurement, and sales, to create efficient production plans that meet demand while minimizing costs and lead times.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of supply chain principles and excellent planning and forecasting abilities, contributing to the smooth running of the entire production process in a key coastal manufacturing facility.
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules to meet deadlines and address unforeseen issues.
- Collaborate with sales and logistics to ensure efficient order fulfillment and on-time delivery.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Prepare reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning , scheduling, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in using planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
