Petrochemical Plant Operator

Our client operates a significant facility in the energy and petrochemical sector located in Mossel Bay , and is seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Petrochemical Plant Operator . This crucial role involves monitoring and controlling complex processes within the plant to ensure efficient and safe production. You will be responsible for operating specialized equipment, performing routine checks, and responding to process upsets.

• Operate and monitor plant equipment and control systems to ensure optimal process performance.
• Perform regular inspections of machinery and process areas, identifying potential issues and taking corrective actions.
• Collect process samples and perform basic laboratory tests as required.
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational protocols.
• Respond effectively to alarms and process deviations, implementing shutdown or startup procedures as necessary.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational data, including production rates, temperatures, and pressures.

• Completed Matriculation or equivalent qualification; technical diploma (e.g., Chemical Engineering) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a plant operator, preferably in the petrochemical or related energy industries.
• Demonstrated understanding of process control principles and chemical plant operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid medical fitness certificate and willingness to work shifts.
