Senior Analytical Chemist - Quality Control

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to lead their Quality Control laboratory in Mossel Bay . This position is vital for ensuring the high standards of their products through rigorous testing and analysis. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods, overseeing instrument calibration, and mentoring junior chemists. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various analytical techniques and a commitment to maintaining product integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of analytical instrumentation, ensuring calibration and performance.
• Review and interpret analytical data, preparing comprehensive reports and certificates of analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior analytical chemists, providing training and technical guidance.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Master's degree or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong focus on quality control in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC, GC), mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS), and spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, IR, NMR).
• Proficiency in method development, validation, and transfer according to ICH guidelines.
• Experience with LIMS and data integrity principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in our Mossel Bay laboratory.
