About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Haul Freight Driver to join their expanding fleet, operating primarily out of Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This role involves transporting goods across significant distances, requiring stamina, responsibility, and a strong commitment to safety and schedule adherence. You will be responsible for the secure transport of various freight types, maintaining the vehicle, and ensuring compliance with all road transport regulations.

The successful candidate is a self-reliant professional who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of timely and secure deliveries over extended routes.

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., semi-trailers) for long-distance freight transportation.
• Plan and execute routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines, considering rest periods and legal driving hour limits.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the truck and trailer to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
• Securely load and unload freight, ensuring it is properly protected during transit.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to trips, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.

• Valid Code 14 (CE) driver's license with a valid PrDP.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in long-haul freight driving.
• Excellent knowledge of South African road networks and safe driving practices.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods and manage time effectively.
