Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Distribution Center Supervisor to lead operations at their facility in Mossel Bay . This role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient workflow, and managing a team of warehouse associates. You will focus on productivity, accuracy, and safety, implementing best practices to optimize operations and meet company targets. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems, and a commitment to fostering a productive and safe work environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a key distribution hub.
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure efficient execution of receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory control to maintain accuracy.
- Implement and enforce all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train new employees on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution center.
- Proven experience in managing and motivating warehouse teams.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management , shipping, and receiving.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant technology.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification on various warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, is an advantage.
