About the role
We’re looking for a driven Site Engineer to join our Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Operations Team, based across Central Scotland
. You’ll work alongside industry‑leading experts who’ll support your growth with hands‑on learning, real responsibility, and continuous opportunities to develop. Bring your talent, ambition and curiosity — and we’ll help you go further than you thought possible.
You’ll play a key role across our major infrastructure projects within Power Transmission & Distribution, supporting safe and successful delivery on‑site throughout Central Scotland and occasionally further afield across the UK. You’ll gain exposure to complex engineering, innovative technology, and some of the most important energy projects in the country.
What you will do:- Develop and deliver sustainable, compliant, and safe project solutions from start to finish.
- Supervise and coordinate site teams, ensuring right‑first‑time delivery.
- Monitor project compliance, keeping comprehensive records and documentation.
- Set and drive programme and cost efficiency, making a meaningful impact on each project.
- Foster a positive team environment, helping every team member succeed.
As a Site Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Set to work and supervise a right first time delivery
- Safely and sustainably develop and deliver to programme and cost
- Monitor to ensure works are delivered compliant
- Produce required records in a timely manner
- Effectively manage and care for the people delivering the work
You will have the following:
- HNC/HND/Degree in engineering discipline would be preferable and/or relevant Site Experience with the Utilities / Construction Industry
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross‑functional teams towards solutions.
- Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems
- People Management experience and relationship management skills
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control.
- Knowledge of Project Management methodology.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willing to work away from home.
