A well-established and growing regional civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its team in Hamilton. With a strong pipeline of secured work across infrastructure, groundworks, and public realm projects, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role within a respected contractor delivering high-quality regional projects.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will provide commercial and operational leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a senior position requiring a proactive leader who can manage teams, build client relationships, and drive performance across several live sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage multiple civil engineering contracts simultaneously
* Lead and support Project Managers and Site Managers
* Ensure projects are delivered safely and in compliance with all HSE regulations
* Monitor programme performance and implement corrective actions where necessary
* Manage commercial performance in collaboration with Quantity Surveyors
* Maintain and develop strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Contribute to tender reviews, risk management, and strategic planning
* Report regularly to senior leadership on project and financial performance
About You
* Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or Site Agent role within civil engineering
* Strong background in infrastructure, groundworks, roads, drainage, or utilities
* Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Relevant construction or civil engineering qualification (degree or equivalent preferred)
