The OpportunityFirst Achieve Engineering is supporting a global engineering manufacturer specialising in advanced thermal processing and controlled atmosphere equipment used in highly regulated and demanding industries.
With over 50 years of technical expertise and part of a larger international engineering group, our client designs, builds, installs and commissions bespoke capital equipment systems worldwide.
They are now seeking an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join their UK-based engineering team.
The Role- Supervising installation contractors on customer sites
- Overseeing mechanical & electrical installation of capital equipment
- Leading site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Supporting commissioning activities
- Carrying out service and fault-finding work when required
This role is ideal for someone with an electro-mechanical maintenance background looking to transition into installation and commissioning within a specialist engineering environment.
Travel Requirements- UK & international travel required
- Monday-Friday site-based work when outside commuting distance
- Overseas assignments may last up to 4-5 weeks
- Extended travel beyond this would be agreed in advance
- International workload shared across the engineering team
- Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification (C&G or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings
- Fault finding on mechanical assemblies, drives, pumps etc.
- Experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, water & electrical systems
- Working knowledge of:
- Temperature control instrumentation
- Inverters
- PLCs
- HMIs
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs
- PLC fault-finding capability
- Competent with Microsoft Office
- Experience with vacuum systems or thermal processing equipment
- 18th Edition (BS7671)
- C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing
- Ability to modify PLC programs under engineering instruction
