Therapist - Social Worker - Counselor

Therapists at Turning Point provide individual and group counseling to adults with trauma, mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Therapists must be aware of social factors affecting the psychological well‑being of individuals and conduct evaluative interviews.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to adults with trauma, mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
  • Work full‑time Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; mornings for group therapy (process and education groups) and afternoons for individual sessions, family contacts, case management and treatment planning.
  • Conduct evaluative interviews and remain aware of social factors influencing client well‑being.
  • Receive clinical supervision for licensure and attend CEU sessions provided free during work time.
  • Support Men’s Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Women’s PHP and Women’s Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care.

Qualifications
  • Licensure in the State of Georgia in good standing: LMSW, LAMFT, LAPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC preferred.
  • Master’s Degree required; new graduates (within last 12 months) from Masters Therapist/Social Worker/Counselor Programs working toward licensure may be considered.
  • Competence, understanding and treatment experience in:
    • Primary Mental Health Diagnosis
    • Chemical Dependency/Substance Abuse
    • Dual Diagnosis
    • Trauma‑focused treatment
    • Patients with military backgrounds
