Forklft Operator

Position Overview

Primarily responsible for operating forklift equipment, setting up the de‑bone area, transporting finished product, and ensuring compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Set up the de‑bone area with coolant, tubs, and handle transportation of combos.
• Transport finished product to the scales and to the manifest area.
• Move product to be reworked as needed.
• Maintain the forklift in a sanitary manner and replace the battery when required.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Complete all tasks assigned by management.
• Follow directions and work in other departments if needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Work unsupervised and self‑motivate.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the poultry industry.
• Basic math skills.

• Forklift certified.

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety requirements.
• Wearing required PPE (hairnet, smock, earplugs, etc.) as specified.

• Stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to high heat (~99.5°F) in incubators.
• Exposure to wet, dusty and raw animal odor environments.
• Frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel and crawl.
• Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.).
• Work around noise levels >85 decibels, CO2, and moving production machinery.
• Ability to work in both wet (up to 45°F) and cold conditions.
