Cook – Turning Point Care Center, LLC
Are you passionate about cooking and the well‑being of others? Join our dedicated team at Turning Point Care Center, where we prioritize nutrition and deliciousness for our patients and staff. As a Cook you will play a crucial role in preparing healthy and appetizing meals in compliance with dietary guidelines.
Typical DayOur cooks work ten‑hour shifts. They review the day’s menu, prepare the work area, cook meals in large batches, and serve approximately 120 meals per mealtime. Cooks monitor temperatures of the cooler, freezer, and dishwashers, record results, report deviations, and complete routine cleaning tasks. Each cook prepares and serves three meals per day and offers alternative options for special diets. This position is PRN status.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and patient needs.
- Ensure high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene during meal preparation and storage.
- Collaborate with dietitians and staff to create tailored meal plans.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, following strict hygiene protocols.
- Participate in special events and themed meals to enhance the dining experience.
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a healthcare or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and guidelines.
- Ability to prepare meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to accommodate various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs and perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling materials.
- Current Georgia Driver’s License (conditions for violations listed).
No nights! Enjoy your evenings off with shifts ending at 5:30 or 6:00 pm.
