Position SummaryThe Project Executive will oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to. The Project Executive will ensure projects are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Essential Functions- Responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the Project Managers, ensuring the organization, accuracy, and timely processing & execution of all Project Financials and Accounting.
- Oversees the Project Manager to prepare a detailed master Project Schedule and reviews updates to the Project Schedule with the Project Manager and Scheduling Consultant.
- Oversees the sequence of construction and works with the Project Manager regarding changes to the sequence of construction.
- Assists in the preparation of technical proposals and presentations, contract packages, budgets, research, correspondence, reports, change orders, closeout documents, invoices, billings, etc. as necessary.
- Ensures projects are on schedule and on budget. Identifying budget and scheduling issues and implementing remedies immediately through delegation and accountability.
- Review work activity reports provided by the Project Manager for Schedule Updates to include work activities that should have occurred but did occur and/or work activities that should have started but did not start.
- Responsible for working with the Project Manager to identify project challenges early on and developing contingency plans for the successful delivery of the project that mitigates risk.
- Provides monthly general conditions projections with input from the Project Manager & Project Accountant.
- Ensure projects remain on budget through oversight of general conditions, monitoring trade/subcontractor labor, material, and equipment costs, as well as financial reporting provided by the Project Manager.
- As necessary, oversees and/or participates in the Project Progress Meetings, Trade / Subcontractor Issues meetings, Safety meetings, and Inspection meetings.
- Generates project status reports and other deliverables to present to the Executive Vice President.
- Ensures the Project Managers are held accountable for accurate and timely closeout of projects, and retention is collected in an expeditious manner.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers through written training & development plans with time frames and measurable metrics.
- Coordinates external training and development programs for Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, evaluate, and make changes in status of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers in accordance with company policies & procedures.
- Conducts Semiannual Performance Check in Discussion and Annual Performance Assessment for all Project Managers.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators, goals, and other metrics for tracking performance.
- Aid Project Managers in the development of Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, ensuring a clear path of career advancement. Assist in the Annual Performance Assessment for all Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Assistant Superintendents, and Superintendents.
- Know the status of all assigned Projects and prepared to answer questions concerning the Project at any time.
- Responsible for identifying manpower needs and allocating resources to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Coordinate with other operational leaders to monitor backlog and the Go/No-go process to ensure the needs of the company are being met.
- Assists in ensuring that duties assigned to others are being completed and that these duties are examined for exactness, neatness, and conformance to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Aides in business development and client relations.
- Provides input on new and innovative ways to approach the needs of the company.
- Understands client needs and achieves an acceptable level of satisfaction.
- Studies and presents standardization ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the general contracting industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience successfully delivering ground up construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
