Assembler-2nd Shift
Altec is hiring for an Assembler on the 2nd shift (Sunday–Thursday 3:30 PM–12:00 AM). If you are looking for an entry‑level manufacturing opportunity that offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this role may be a good fit.
Responsibilities- Use and maintain proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders.
- Use basic hand tools such as tape measure and specialty equipment.
- Learn to operate all equipment within the cell.
- Perform rework as required.
- Support Altec Production System initiatives and may participate in RCI events.
- Cross‑train and be willing to move to other work areas to support production needs.
- Install vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories.
- Test installed components.
- Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
- Maintain daily time records.
- Perform other duties as assigned (job duties may vary by location).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions.
- Basic computer usage knowledge desired.
- Vocational training in lieu of experience will be considered.
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics desired.
- General knowledge of one or more of the following desired:
Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical, Manufacturing/Production processes.
- Maintain a clean work area using 5S principles.
- Assist co‑workers as needed.
- Participate in RCI events when required.
- May be required to learn Altec programs and/or systems.
- Shift work will be required.
