This position is responsible for enrolling and completing the Level 1 training course provided by Petsense, “Paragon,” in preparation for a career in grooming and bathing.

Paragon is a virtual distance learning program where students undergo a 15-week training designed to teach fundamentals in bathing and grooming, along with safety, pet first aid and CPR, pet handling, dog anatomy, and physiology. Training includes hands-on practice, online exams, videos, and photo submissions for grading.

• Maintain regular attendance and support selling initiatives.
• Learn and perform grooming duties such as bathing, drying, brushing, trimming nails, ear cleaning, and basic grooming techniques.
• Ensure pet safety, handle animals properly, and maintain sanitation protocols.
• Assist with customer service, record keeping, and operation of store equipment.
• Complete all training and documentation as required.

• Comfortable working with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion.
• Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to operate grooming tools and communicate effectively.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, and computer skills.

• Indoor environment with exposure to pets, grooming equipment, and potential wet conditions.
• Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours, including weekends and evenings.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and move animals and equipment safely.
