Seneca Resources is seeking a Junior IT Specialist to support mission-critical Information Technology (IT) systems in both stand‑alone and client‑server environments. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise IT systems, including Microsoft server environments, Defense Message Systems (DMS), and other authorized hardware and software platforms.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience supporting network infrastructure, server hardware, and end‑user systems while ensuring operational readiness and compliance with technical and security standards.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in stand‑alone and client‑server environments
- Support Microsoft server platforms, Defense Message Systems (DMS), and other authorized IT systems
- Integrate multiple Information Systems (IS) within networked environments
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer IT and system issues
- Perform hardware upgrades and repairs to maintain mission capability
- Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, and transmission media
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software
- Ensure proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software
- Install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN)
- Support network services, storage networking devices, and enterprise servers
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT systems installation, administration, or support
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including:
- Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)
- Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
- Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs)
- Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
- Network Address Translation (NAT)
- Experience supporting wired and wireless network infrastructure
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system and network issues in a mission‑critical environment
- IAT Level II Certification
, including one or more of the following:- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Microsoft MS-900 Certification (or equivalent)
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
