This position is responsible for providing operational support in remediation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates will perform basic-level tasks related to dry and pre‑cleaning damage structures using accepted BELFOR processes while meeting BELFOR standards. Intermediates assist in developing basic-level technicians and support advanced technicians on large or complex projects. To qualify, you must have at least 12 months of BELFOR experience as a Fire Damage Specialist – Basic Level – or an equivalent industry standard experience, with direct involvement in a minimum of 25 fire damage projects.
This role is Level 3 in the Progressive Fire Damage track.
- Follow instructions and work well under supervision
- Coordinate a small crew of unskilled laborers and keep them on task toward defined objectives
- Become familiar with all industry standard odor and smoke removal techniques
- Be familiar with and able to perform all industry standard structure cleaning processes
- Safely remove debris from affected structures without damaging unaffected areas while maintaining a clean and safe jobsite
- Aid in the installation and maintenance of containments
- Answer simple project-related questions or defer to a more experienced team member
- Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and keep vehicles clean and serviceable
- Maintain attention to detail
- Meet BELFOR standards in safeguarding other people’s property
- Apply comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically
- Report time worked, equipment, and consumables used accurately and timely
- Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
- Supervise unskilled labor on residential and light commercial projects
- Perform dry and wet pre‑cleaning, cleaning, and debris removal under supervision
- Manipulate contents and perform containment under supervision
- Maintain equipment used in daily tasks
- Complete additional duties as required
