Position: Mechanical Engineer (Technical Antenna)

Technical Antenna – Medium Voltage (Mechanical Engineer):
Onsite at the Mount Juliet, TN facility

The Technical Antenna Engineer is dedicated to completing assignments that focus on investigating issues and recommending corrective action(s) and maintaining engineering records for standard product offerings. Execute approved recommendations (i.e., create/revise records in Creo and/or PDM). Create/write Application Notes and submit for validation. The TAs will provide essential support to our manufacturing plants supporting the product range, in resolving ongoing issues and enhancing supplier resiliency.

This position will report to the Manager, Continuous Improvement, structured to the Engineered-To-Order (ETO) Simplification Team, dedicated to collaborating with the Offer, Sales, and Global Supply Chain (GSC) teams to optimize engineering and manufacturing processes. The team’s goal is to align closely with customer demand to minimize product lead times.

What will you do?
  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and resolves the product support requests such as MOTS (Middle Office Technical Support), PDCRs (Product Design Change Request), and review ACE tickets (Application Coded Equipment)
  • Supports product lines and teams – Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to attain lead times and reduce errors
  • Performs standard record changes based on priorities and investigations related to standard design issues.
  • Supports CS&Q (Customer Satisfaction & Quality) Team with deviations (eDerogations) requests, obsolescence of designs, CoS (Change of Suppliers), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and FAIR (First Article Inspection Report), 3F analysis (Fit, Form & Function) and Product Audits.
  • Collaborates with Design/Continuous Engineering Team per TA-CE RASCI (Responsible, Accountable, Support, Consult, Irrelevant) and Delegation Rules.
  • Supports in technical problem solving through root cause analysis (8D), risk assessment via PFMEAs, and supports criticality/part qualification through CQCS (Component Quality Control Specification)
  • Supports parts localization tasks building BOM, creating drawings/parts/assemblies and collaborates with Procurement, Quality and MV ETO Hub Leads.
  • Maintains an up-to-date, thorough knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal codes/regulations and interprets and applies industry standards (UL, ANSI, NEC) to new designs.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Experienced in the design, applications, and/or installation of Medium Voltage products.
  • Proficient in Creo, PDM, Order Editor, ACE, and SAP.
  • Proficient in 3D tolerance analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical disciplines.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience.
  • Must integrate quickly into global offers and challenges that differ from AIS and traditional PP NAM, including the physical equipment and designs, also the global processes and support organizations.
  • Supports GIS products - CBGS-0, GHA, DVCAS & Prem Set while working with plants in Europe on core brick integration issues.
Location & Travel:

This role is based at our ETO manufacturing plant in Mt Juliet, TN and requires to be on‑site Monday thru Friday – 5 days a week. Based on training requirements, this role might require spending a minimum of 2 weeks each at Schneider Plants in Germany & Spain.
