PTA PRN (Healthcare)
Supervises and guides therapy personnel, including licensed, registered, and certified therapists, assistants, aides, and students, in an assigned facility. Responsible for daily staff scheduling to meet facility needs. Provides direct patient care and collaborates with supervisors to determine appropriate caseloads, ensuring rehabilitation needs of residents are met. Regularly reviews and updates therapy services to adapt to changing environments and complies with all regulatory standards related to rehabilitation services.
Ensures complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation of services provided. Conducts periodic reviews of department documentation and manages denials to ensure claims and appeals are processed in accordance with company procedures. Meets or exceeds productivity standards established with supervisors and guarantees high-quality service delivery aligned with standards of practice.
Implements new treatment programs and monitors outcomes, adjusting plans of care as necessary. Ensures departmental policies and procedures are followed, approves timecards, and evaluates department staff. Builds relationships with local hospitals and referral sources, and actively participates in facility and company meetings.
Promotes safe work practices among staff, emphasizing body mechanics, safety, and judgment to prevent injuries. Organizes orientation for new staff, ensures timely completion of paperwork, and manages billing documentation accurately. Provides feedback and suggestions for service and company improvements.
Willingness to travel as required and maintain confidentiality of patient and company information is essential. Identifies personal development needs, potential leaders, and new business opportunities. Fosters a positive attitude within staff and the community regarding the company’s mission and goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises PT/OT/SP therapists, assistants, aides, and students.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology;
Master’s or Doctorate preferred. Proficient in computer skills, especially Casamba and Point Click Care. Must hold valid licensure in the respective therapy discipline and CPR certification. Continual education and license maintenance required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing; occasional sitting; ability to exert significant force; and physical agility for various movements. Work environment is usually low to moderate noise, with accommodations available for disabilities.
