• Be the on-air morning personality Monday-Friday, including co-hosting a 30-minute morning talk show daily.
• Serve as morning board operator; ensure the schedule is timely and accurate.
• Write and create commercials, often working with clients to create these spots; retrieve produced spots from ad agencies; handle large sales packages.
• Pull weekly shows and edit on-air programs.
• Schedule and conduct interviews with community organizations, businesses, and elected officials.
• Serve as the Emergency Alert Director; duties include running weekly tests and completing weekly paperwork.
• Learn the station’s software and technology; troubleshoot and resolve issues in coordination with the engineer and technical support.
• Manage our social media content (Facebook, Spotify, Instagram) and learn the inner workings of our website.

• Responsible for programming including markets, weather, and special programs.
• Shifts may include covering breaking news, board operation, engineering programs, live broadcasts, sales remotes, severe weather updates/cancelations, and other duties directed.
• Maintain EEO Reports as required by FCC.

• Pleasant, well-controlled voice.
• With a small staff, ability to be a team player.
• Quality writing and editing skills with proficient grammar.
• Self-starter, self-motivated, mature, friendly, and responsible.
• Experience with Adobe Audition and Audio Vault is a plus.
• Knowledge in broadcasting and broadcast technology is a plus.
• Graphic design skills and video editing are a plus.
• Knowledge of people, places, and events in Southeast Iowa is beneficial.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are a must; we are willing to train the right candidate.
• The position is full-time and includes some night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• This position reports to the general manager. Salary is based on experience in broadcasting and audio/visual media production and knowledge of Southeast Iowa.
