Shift: 8a-8p and 8p-8a, 7 days – Start immediately with ongoing coverage in 2026
Must be Board Certified
Licensed in Michigan
Requirements- Board Certified in either EM or FP with ER experience (2+ years)

- Provider must be local, no exceptions
- Must have clean background for quick credentialing
- Provider needs to provide available dates at time of presentation
- DEA – verbal confirmation at time of name clearance
- MI License (not accepting IMLC)
- ACLS/ATLS/PALS (for non‑EM boarders)
- BLS
Reason for Locum coverage:
Recruitment Gap.
Support staff: 1 full‑time midlevel and 2 PRNs; 4 full‑time physicians and 1 PRN.
Average patient volume per day: 54.
Number of beds: 18.

Cerner.
Percent of total hospital admissions from ED: 90%.
Percent of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day: 8%.
Percent of ED patients transferred per day: 2%.
Trauma level/designation: provisional level 4.
Annual ER volume: 20,000.

Will the locum physician be required to supervise other health‑care providers: midlevel only on duty.
Does ED staff respond to house codes:
Yes.
Are house codes secondary to ED emergencies:
Yes; the hospitalist also responds and runs the codes. Anesthesia is available for backup during the day, and we attend codes to provide airway support.
Who writes admission orders: the hospitalist handles admissions; physicians may order bed placement and some limited bridging orders.
Are deliveries received in ED or sent directly to Labor & Delivery: L&D has a clinic.
Is ED responsible for monitoring/supervising paramedics/ambulance by radio: yes.
Ambulance response time & travel referral facility: MMR, varies; sometimes delays even for critical transfers.
Air ambulance response time & travel time to referral center:
Saginaw has a helicopter as well as Corewell GR; both can get here in about 20‑30 minutes.
24‑hour availability for radiology: CT, XR, and MRI are available.
