Small Enginges Paraprofessional (CTE)
Location: Gratiot-Isabella Technical Education Center – Mt. Pleasant Campus
Reports To: GI-TEC Director
Grade/Dept: Small Engines Paraprofessional (Career Technical Education)
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work experience in the powersport, small engine and/or maintenance and repair industry.
- Working knowledge of computers and software programs.
- Demonstrate competency in oral and written communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional tact and diplomacy with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the community.
- Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties.
- Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check.
- Support CTE students of all abilities in the classroom and lab.
- Support instruction and assessments delivered to high school‑age students in all phases of the Small Engines classroom and lab settings.
- Assist students with organizing work, completing assignments, meeting deadlines, note‑taking, test preparation and test taking.
- Assist in the supervision of students in the lab to ensure all safety protocols and proper equipment use is being followed to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Utilize educational technology to support student instruction and learning.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, their families and co‑workers.
- Maintain secure and confidential records of all department and District data while abiding by and upholding all Board policies and procedures.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the CTE Director or designee.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise level in this environment may be moderate to loud. The labs are subject to temperature and/or dust.
CompensationThis position works during scheduled student days (7 hours/day) with salary and benefits as outlined in the Agreement between the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association and the Mt. Pleasant School District Board of Education.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions established in the Agreement between the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association and the Mt. Pleasant School District Board of Education.
