  • Summary:

    Academic Coordinator for assigned teams: promotes academic success and retention of student-athletes; assists in monitoring continuing eligibility; mentors at-risk student-athletes; meets with prospective student-athletes on recruiting visits and provides coaches with relevant NCAA Eligibility Center information regarding prospective student-athletes.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Required:

    One year of experience working in a college student services area.
  • Required:

    Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, Conference and NCAA regulations.
  • Required:

    Positive interpersonal skills.
  • Required:

    Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse educational and social backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Academic Coordinator for assigned sports.
  • Provides academic support for student-athletes.
  • Mentors large population of at-risk student-athletes.
  • Assists with NCAA continuing eligibility certification of student-athletes for CMU, NCAA and Mid-American Conference eligibility.
  • Performs program presentations for recruitment of prospective student-athletes and their parents.
  • Monitors academic progress for student-athletes to ensure CMU graduation and NCAA eligibility.
  • Assists with student-athlete development programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
