Medical Assistant

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, various treatments, administering injections and venipuncture. Assist with clerical duties to maintain efficient operations.

$2,000.00 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new hires

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform to service excellence standards.
  • Respond promptly, professionally and courteously to all customer needs.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Prepare examining rooms, including turning on computer terminals and stocking the room with supplies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant or patient care tech.
  • OR high school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
  • For clinics with Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalents, required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification (may be required at management discretion).
  • Electronic medical record experience.
  • One-year experience working in a medical office with multiple providers.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty.
