Position SummaryThe position is designated as a float position. Travel to or between clinics is required. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Medical Assistant will provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests. Responsibilities also include clerical duties to maintain efficient operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform to service excellence standards
- Respond promptly, professionally, and courteously to all customers’ needs
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with all patients, families, and staff
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts
- Prepare examining rooms including turning on computer terminals and stocking room with supplies
- Organize forms for physicals, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant or patient care tech
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
- For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalents is required within 6 months of hire
- For positions designated as float positions, travel to or between clinics is required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Electronic medical record experience
- One-year experience working in a medical office with multiple providers
- Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty
