JOB POSTING
Position: Flex Substitute Bus Driver
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Required Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Must have or be able to obtain:
- Class A or B CDL with S and P endorsement along with an air brake endorsement.
- Pass state required physical exam and drug screening.
- State required fingerprinting, driver’s license and background check.
- Attend and complete a state safety education class, written and driving skill tests.
- Ability to interact with both students and parents in a positive manner.
- Experience preferred.
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
- Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Keep assigned schedule.
- Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transport only authorized students.
- Report all accidents and complete required reports.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
