The Care Connection Specialist screens incoming patient calls in a clinic setting and enters necessary personal, financial and/or other information necessary to ensure patient is scheduled at the appropriate clinic site. The Care Connection Specialist maintains confidentiality and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

• Appropriately screens calls to ensure patients are scheduled correctly and according to scheduling protocol.
• Maintains professional telephone etiquette when screening calls.
• Repeats provider’s name, date, time, and location of appointment before completing call.
• Receives permission from caller prior to placing calls on hold.
• Uses good judgment when answering inquiries or relaying appropriate information.
• Recognizes when to direct call to provider or another service.
• Demonstrates ability to function independently.
Maintains flexibility and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintains attendance to support required quality and quantity of work.
• Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
• Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
• Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• One year of experience in patient scheduling preferred.

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
