Job: RN PACU, Classification:
Hourly/Non-Exempt, Job Category: 2 Professionals.

• Provide care appropriate to the age of the population served and demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development.
• Administer medications/treatments in a timely manner using the nursing process and standard of care.
• Assess patients pre- and post-operatively, monitor physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment, and communicate with the surgeon and anesthesiologist as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding pain management; document pain assessment and education provided.
• Identify learner needs, learning barriers, and preferred methods; document education provided to patient/family.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in decision making and document admission history, ongoing assessment, care plans, and medication administration.
• Document blood and blood product administration; monitor tasks delegated to other health care team members.
• Assist with or perform procedures requiring technical and manual skills; clarify orders with appropriate consultation and make appropriate interdisciplinary referrals.
• Monitor and interpret clinical information; report abnormal findings; provide complete information during transfers of care.
• Adhere to patient experience initiatives; report to and depart from work on time and as scheduled; perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain composure under stress and follow Titus Regional Medical Center vaccine policies as mandated by CMS.

• One year of ACS/PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.

• Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire date required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) within 90 days of hire date required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 90 days of hire date required.

• Lifting and carrying; pushing/pulling as described in role requirements.
• Movement requirements include bending, stooping, twisting, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, reaching above and below shoulder; repetitive arm/hand movements and grasping.
• Environment: predominantly indoor; possible outdoor exposure; control of noise and equipment-related demands; work near machinery, electricity, sharps, chemicals, fumes.
• Vision: depth perception, color not required, peripheral vision; depth/perception requirements noted.
