Summary

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties. They possess knowledge of all product areas, support sales and promotions, and act as the store’s ambassador. When the Store Manager is absent, the Manager in Training takes supervisory control and is trained on all Store Manager responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling assets.
  • Help establish action plans to accomplish departmental and store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
  • Stay aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
  • Keep management informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
  • Perform general administrative duties and be trained in Store Manager responsibilities.
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual, including assistance at store entry and during peak periods.
  • Promote and sell Hibbett services and merchandise.
  • Practice and uphold Hibbett Corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, following company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assist team management and meet overall goals and profits.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on tasks without prompting.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
