- Install, commission, and maintain equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Utilize software knowledge to:
- Update embedded code (firmware, assembly code) for equipment calibration, optimization, or bug fixes
- Collaborate with peers on root cause analysis of software/hardware issues
- Train customers on operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
- Document service activities, including field reports, code modifications, and parts usage
- Provide feedback from field issues to engineering and product development teams
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and site regulations
- Up to 50% travel domestically and internationally (as required, sometimes on short notice) to support customer installations and service calls
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Technical degree or related field (or equivalent technical training/experience)
- 3 years minimum related experience, including customer‑facing and/or field service
- Experience in field service, technical support, or a related role
- Familiarity with Firmware/Assembly code or low‑level programming for embedded systems
- Familiarity with C/C++ or higher‑level programming for embedded systems
- Familiarity with rotating equipment (motors, drives, clutches, pumps, or similar)
- Familiarity with embedded systems, PLCs, and industrial control hardware
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical reporting
- Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools
