Job Brief:
We are seeking a highly skilled Level 4 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. The Level 4 Data Center Technician will be responsible for the break-fix of GPUs, servers, network, and cabling, as well as ticket management (ITSM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.

They should be familiar with interpreting BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for and have a strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies, including copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.
Responsibilities:

* Perform tasks listed under Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 as needed.
oMove servers and switches to required destinations for installation.
oInspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.
oInstall servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.
oEnsure all cables are bundled neatly and in accordance with standards.
oDouble-check with network admins to ensure everything is cabled correctly and all connections are up.
oInstall additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory).
oAssist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed.
oAudit servers and consumables.
oTroubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.
oOrder replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to their respective vendors.
oUpdate firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
oConfigure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
oAssist network admins on any issues they are having with a server, including replacing broken or damaged cables, re-routing cables to different ports on the server or switch, replacing optics on both server and switch ports, changing out parts, and installing upgraded versions of those parts in servers.
oTemporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations on the device.
oAssist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switches.
oDeploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
oPerform break-fix tasks, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.
oProvide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution of tickets.
oServe as the initial contact/liaison between team members and management.
oPrioritize and manage workload across the team.
oReview build documentation before projects and validate any questions or concerns.
oDirect build activities related to data center operations.
oEnsure projects are aligned with data center standards.
oProvide thought leadership to aid with growth across the program.
oManage multiple simultaneous projects with a high degree of stress within the work environment.
oMonitor project deadlines and provide status updates to project managers.
oEnsure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
oDeploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
oPerform break-fix tasks related to GPUs, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.

* Perform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.

* Manage tickets using ITSM tools.

* Land fully populated GPU or network racks within the data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.

* Interpret BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for.

* Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures within the data center.

* Handle and install optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.

* Scope and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).

* Rack and stack equipment within existing racks.

* Patch fiber and copper cables.

* Lead and manage teams effectively.

* Travel as required.

* Work with DC power and DC powered equipment.

* Provide daily communication and document progress using customer tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.

* Work in a Microsoft data center environment.

* Familiar with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise-level data centers.
Requirements:

* 10+ years of deployment and/or break-fix experience in a data center.

* Extensive experience with landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment.

* Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies, including copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.

* Experience with handling and installing optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.

* Experience with scoping and cleaning fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).

* Experience with racking and stacking equipment within existing racks.

* Experience with patching fiber and copper cables.

* Proven experience in leading teams.
