Our client is a fast-growing healthcare startup focused on transforming the patient and provider experience through innovative healthcare solutions. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their team and support revenue cycle operations.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$25/hr - $30/hr
Position Overview:The Medical Biller will be responsible for the accurate submission, tracking, and resolution of medical claims. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely reimbursement, maintaining billing accuracy, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities of the Medical Biller:- Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
- Review claims for completeness and compliance with payer requirements.
- Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Post payments and adjustments accurately.
Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances. - Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and appeals.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Assist with reporting and revenue cycle improvement initiatives.
- 2+ years of medical billing experience.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding terminology.
- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing.
- Familiarity with claim submission, payment posting, and denial management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR and medical billing software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a healthcare startup or high-growth environment.
- Medical Billing Certification (CBCS, CMRS, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience with telehealth billing processes.
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle optimization best practices.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's degree in Medical Billing & Coding, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
