DaVita is hiring a Dialysis Tech to give life at our Apple Valley Dialysis in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Paid Training Provided (some health care experience preferred)

• Schedule: Monday - Saturday 4:00 am - 5:00 pm (rotational schedule with every other Saturday)

• Shift differential for travel, paid mileage (if you float to another clinic for a shift)

• Compensation increases as you complete different levels of training and take on more responsibility

• Dialysis Tech – Day to Day

• 25%:
  Receives patient into treatment/exam area; weighs patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre- and post-dialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets. Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESKD patients as per DaVita policy and/or state regulations; obtains blood samples and culture specimens and prepares for shipment.

• 2x 5%:
  Under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor sets up and monitors dialysis machines and RO water system; responds to alarms; performs safety checks; dismantles, cleans and disinfects dialysis machines; performs end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection with guidance of nurse and/or preceptor.

• 20%:
  Collects patient data and reports to nurse/preceptor related to monitoring and documenting status of vascular accesses; documents patient observations and seeks guidance when levels are out of normal range for ESKD patients; reports patient parameters to registered nurse as needed.

• Under guidance of nurse/preceptor initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter techniques in accordance with state, federal and local regulations.

• 20%:
  Reviews dialysis prescription, notes general physical and mental condition; obtains information/data to determine compliance to dietary or medication regimen; documents observations and reviews with nurse/preceptor.

• 5%:
  Performs clerical duties as needed and reviews with nurse/preceptor which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, data entry and maintaining patient charts.

• Dialysis Tech Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; functional proficiency in all DaVita computer systems within 90 days of hire required

• Dialysis Technician Certification by a CMS approved state certification program or national certification program required within 18 months of hire or position change

• Additional state requirements/regulations where applicable
