Salary Range: $100k - $160k/annum plus benefits plus relocation assistance
Job Description:
We’re seeking an experienced Manager of Maintenance & Engineering to lead multi-site maintenance and engineering operations for a high-volume, automated manufacturing organization in the renewable energy sector. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and leading capital expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader with strong expertise in automation, preventive maintenance, and large-scale project execution.
You’ll design and implement maintenance strategies, oversee multi-million-dollar Cap Ex projects, and lead cross‑functional efforts to enhance uptime, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance and engineering professionals across multiple facilities; foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and technical excellence.
- Maintenance Optimization: Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and productivity.
- Capital Projects: Manage large-scale capital projects ($1M+), from concept through completion—ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Automation & Controls: Oversee automated systems, including robotics, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC-based equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis initiatives to enhance performance and reduce downtime.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimize processes and support business goals. - Data‑Driven Maintenance: Leverage CMMS and performance analytics to guide asset management and decision‑making.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering and maintenance operations meet internal and regulatory safety standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in maintenance or engineering management roles within North American manufacturing (U.S. or Canada). Proven background in high-volume, automated environments (automotive, semiconductor, solar, electronics, or food & beverage preferred). Strong track record managing $1M+ Cap Ex projects. Hands‑on experience with CMMS, TPM, and maintenance optimization programs. Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.). Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and develop high‑performing technical teams.
