Summary
Perdue Farms is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent – 2nd Shift to support our facility in Mount Vernon, WA. The Maintenance Superintendent manages, either through supervisors or directly supervises, the maintenance staff for a specific part of the plant and/or shift. Principal AndEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in the planning, organizing and directing in the development of the maintenance work plan; assigns methods and procedures.
- Assists in recommending maintenance and operating procedures for new facilities prior to and during construction.
- Develops new layout designs for installing new equipment/processes and for changes to existing.
- Prepares estimates of needed equipment, materials, supplies and labor; supervises the repair of all types of building, mechanical and structural problems.
- Reviews completed work orders; assists in establishing work policies, maintenance and repair standards.
- Develops, maintains and updates a preventive maintenance program using the technology provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to increase equipment reliability and minimize production line downtime.
- Identifies chronic maintenance problem areas and recommends courses of action necessary to repair, modify or replace equipment by utilizing machine downtime and history data from the CMMS to increase machine efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Ensures that the activities of the Maintenance Department adhere to USDA regulations and plant quality control standards by keeping the Supervisors and mechanics informed of the proper procedures and monitoring their compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 3–5 years related experience.
- Experience in layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, Industrial Engineering, CAD operation, and USDA requirements.
Salary range: $105K–$115K per year, based on experience and qualifications, with an annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Environmental Factors andPhysical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Exposure to wet and moist floors, metal and plastic grating surfaces, temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F, 100% humidity, product temperatures 25°F to 50°F, noise ranges 50 dB to 110 dB, and chemicals used in poultry processing.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the company.
