Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and guide the customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
  • Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
  • Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; transition to full-time January–April, including evening and weekend hours as needed. This role is in-person and not remote.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned to support growth and client service across three offices.
What you ll bring to the team
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
  • Assist the DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to resolve associate issues and address performance concerns.
  • Build an engaging team environment across all offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
  • Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for associates in all offices.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
Qualifications
  • People management experience with the ability to grow and develop associates.
  • Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading toward a growth culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset to understand and exceed client needs.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
  • Enrollment in or completion of the required tax training is not a guarantee of employment.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions depend on experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location. Qualifying associates may participate in incentive plans and benefits as described.

Pay Range
$15.00 - $40.00/HR.
